Bio
Pamela Giaroli is an Italian-born multimedia artist, filmmaker and fabricator. She has a BA in Photographic Arts from the University of Westminster and a BS in Electro-Technical Engineering. Giaroli collaborates with artists across disciplines and aims, through her work, to empower women in male-dominated fields like film production, fabrication, and home improvement. She has made home and art in her natal city of Brescia, London, New York City and Western Massachusetts.
In film and photography, her instinctive and documentary style captures the chaos, energy or emotion of the moment. Her film works have been shown at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center, Bric Arts Mediahouse, MoMa and at several US film festivals.
In furniture making, set design, and custom interior design, Giaroli enjoys combining traditional processing and fabrication methods while exploring new technologies. She has designed and built interiors for homes and offices, engineered and constructed multimedia art pieces, and designed multichannel video installations.
Her art practice is most concerned with problem solving. Now, she is turning her attention to the problem of humanity’s future on earth. In her current film project, I Am Mother Earth, an embodied Mother Earth avatar invites us all to join her in restoring balance, harmony and equity. The film will evolve through crowd-sourced contributions and act as an instruction manual for this time of transformation.
